ROB ZOMBIE: Legendary Effects Man Joins 'The Devil's Rejects' Team
June 30, 2004According to a posting on Rob Zombie's web site, legendary effects man Bob Kurtzman has joined the behind-the-scenes team of "The Devil's Rejects", the much-anticipated sequel to Zombie's directorial debut, "House of 1000 Corpses", tentatively due in early 2005. "Bob has worked on many classic films, including 'Once Upon A Time In Mexico', 'The Green Mile', 'Boogie Nights', 'Bride of Re-animator', 'From Dusk Til Dawn', 'Army of Darkness', 'Pulp Fiction' and so on. He also directed the beloved 'Wishmaster'. This time Bob and his newly formed company Precinct 13 are handling the visual effects, not to be confused with Wayne Toth of Ex-Mortius who is the make up effects supervisor and handling the make up effects."
As previously reported, "The Devil's Rejects" (which "refers to the nickname that the media has bestowed upon our favorite band of murderers") will feature a plot revolving around "the revenge-driven brother of slain Sheriff Wydell hunting down the family with a band of bounty hunters."
Even though "House of 1000 Corpses" was not a box office smash, the relatively low-budget flick's (which cost a reported $7 million to produce) $12.5 million haul was enough to make Lions Gate Films happy.
